the best practice for keeping wool items fresh between washings is to air them out after each wear.
if you would like to wash your beanie, follow this:
fill a bowl or sink with room temperature water (no hot water! the fabric will felt and shrink)
add a gentle, wool-safe detergent
let soak for 20 mins
rinse detergent*
squeeze out excess water (do not wring out)
lay flat to dry
*follow the directions from your specific wool-safe detergent. some do not require you to rinse the garment after soaking.
